Hello warrior forum. I am writing to ask if a 2002 warrior a good motorcycle? I have found an '02 warrior with less than 5k miles for $4500. Is this a good deal? Are there any problems I should look for? Any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. I currently own a '97 honda shadow ACE 1100C2 that has given me good service and is rock solid. Has about 20,000 miles on it. |

Good motorcycle?........... NO. its an excellent motorcycle. Check and see if it has had the transmission recall done already. If not then you can have high compression pistons installed for just the price of the pistons. There is a few on here with 100,000 miles on their bikes. Great machines, and endless mods.
As far as price it all depends on if its bone stock or has some goodies too. |

I have owned my warrior for about 7 months, I spent $5200 for mine an '02 with 10k on it, I absolutely love mine. I have a sportbike background and wanted a more comfortable ride, and was not dissapointed... The only advise I can offer if you are not a mechanic is to have one check it out for you first. If the owner is confident in the bike they should have no problem with this request..

There are no lemon years. The first few years have recalls, but Yamaha still honors them for free, and as noted you can get some goodies added for the price of parts if the recalls haven't been done.
I payed 4 grand for my 02. So it's in the ballpark. Is it stock? BTW- I used to live on the other side of Phenix City back in the day when I was a Drill Sergeant (Russell County I believe...)

Mine's an 02, I'm pushing 30K on it now, no real problems at all in the time I've owned it. Price seems decent if it's clean, good place to start negotiating at least.

Yes Phenix City is in the county of Russell. There is Lee county as well. Thanks for the info. I will ride over to Columbus later and check out the bike

There's a reason Yamaha didn't make any major changes to the Warrior from 2002-2011. They are pretty bullet proof.
Great bike and good price, I would jump on it unless it's been abused. Welcome to the Forum! D |

So did you go check it out? Any pics of it? I would probably try to talk them down some, but it does seem like a decent price if its in good shape.
