Default clutch adjustment/break-in

bought new leftover 08 this year. made 1 adj. at lever within 200-300? miles. made a 2nd adj. at middle cable in just a few more miles 500-800? At 1000+ miles I felt the need for a 3rd. Closed lever adj. and mid-cable adj. and made the
adj. at trans.(1 notch) All seems fine now at 3,900 miles but is this normal break in for a Warrior? Love the bike, hate the muffler, and back tire is now a slick!

I think that's not unusual. Not really the clutch itself, but the cable settling into it's groove. You might take a close look at the very end of the cable at the hand lever... That's where it will break... if it's gonna break.

and make sure you lube the ball ends of the cable. i bought my bike used in '06 with 3,000 miles on the stock cable and never adjusted it at all until i put on new cables this year. i've had to adjust the new cable twice this summer, so maybe it's normal. barnetts never-lube cable. really nice.

Also make sure you have some play at the lever, about 5mm, without play you will burn through the clutch and be constantly adjusting it. But what you mentioned sounds pretty normal

Should these cable ends be oiled or lubricated? What is the PM on this sort of thing?

you should absolutely lube the ball ends at least every oil change.
