I am working on a big radius 2-1 look 'slip on' for the stock header. I have a 6 foot long piece of 3" diameter pipe and a 2 foot diameter jig made up to bend the pipe. I just need an oxy acetylene torch to make the bend! Anyone near eastern PA have one they would be willing to loan me? Jon |

I've got a extra set of exhaust headers I bought off of Allcreation. I was going to use those to add bungs to for a PCV. I left a message yesterday with Corbin about getting their Autotune for an evaluation. If that comes thru, then I won't be needing them. The next part is a long version of just take a metal rod, bend it to the shape you want and make a pipe from that. G I use to work with the Development Engineer's at McDonnell Douglas and what they use to do, is take a soft piece of wire rod and bend it by hand to get the pipe dim's to fit from point A to point B for any pipe they needed. i.e. Hydraulic, fuel, air etc. After they got the pipe (Rod) the way they wanted it. They Identified it as a "MTP" Master Template Part and built all the Bend, Weld and Inspection Check Templates around it and then stored the MTP in a bomb shelter under 1 of the hangers in Long Beach. This was standard aircraft practice for many many years. I think the Boeing 777 was the 1st plane to be all cad design. With the advent of CNC tube benders and as spare requirements would arise, Somebody would have to go down into the bomb shelter to find the MTP. We would then "Cordex" cnc probe and store the MTP bend data in the computer for tube benders to duplicate and toss the MTP. After 50 years, there was thousands and thousands of MTP's in there. Now, I know your a "numbers" kinda of guy, so you won't just build some willy nilly pipe. Your gonna want to build a pipe that "performs" I'm sure you know or can figure out the math behind what a "correct" pipe should sorta look like. Then make yourself a "MTP" and build a pipe from that. Just about any tube bending shop that bends Aircraft tubeing knows what one is and how to bend to it. Unfortunatly, When making your dogbones, I found out that my brother pretty much wore out all my machine tools and welders. I guess after 10 years of being on the road for business, crap like that will happen. Hey at least they didn't fall apart due to rust. Its a shame we live so close to each other, yet, just a tad to far. G |

CADFather- Thank you....I will add you to the list.
I really value everyone's opinions weighing in so far..... The general concensus so far seems to be in favor of two things (no surprise there....LOL): 1. Performance 2. Ground clearance The other common feelings so far is that the S* provides one of the best performances and ground clearance, but is hard to find. Also Many people have always wanted a 2-1 Big Radius for the Warrior. So here are our starting points (incidentally this is where the Borda thread started...but never made it anywhere): S* exhaust (courtesy of Justice): ![]() And the fabled Big Radius many have lusted for but V&H never made for the Warrior (courtesy of Pep): ![]() Maybe we can incorporate the design elements from both and come up with the ultimate exhaust. OK so lets begin with the S* headers....how do they differ from the stock headers in overall bends, diameter, length, etc? Last edited by rx_warrior; 05-11-2011 at 12:30 AM. |

Speed* performance with the Big Radius look. H3ll yeah!!
As much as I love Peps pipe I always felt the rear should be up a bit higher. That the rear tip should be next to the swing arm not below it. Raise the angle up so that the top of the curve just about covered the rear reservoir. I should have some time this weekend I'll take pics without the pipe, with the stock header with and without the heat shields. Take some measurements if you need/want. Seems to be some decent 2"-4" 5' long aluminized exhaust pipe and bends on ebay that we might be able to play macaroni art with. **** I wish I had a welder!!!!!! I know arcs can be had used for <$100 but thats not a very pretty weld and might be too much for thin walled pipe, no?

![]() Stock head pipes with modded 02 V Rod top muffler. I can fab anything in mild steel or TIG it in stainless. There should be pix from me on the forum of the first design stainless steel speed star exhaust with the front pipe modded for ground clearance.
