Essence of Brotherhood Award VOTE

Hi there all,
I have been asked to post up a Brotherhood award after some great threads lately where fellow members have helped out other members in their time of need. Below is the voting Format. I have attempted to keep the same format as the W.O.M awrds.

Essence of Brotherhood Award

Rules of Essence of Brotherhood Award nominating
1) As per W.O.M This topic is not for discussing bikes, chat about the bikes in another section. Votes only here, anything other than votes will be removed.
2) Nominations by way of a brief description of why the member should receive the award. If there is a thread about this event please attach a link to your nomination so others can read it.
3) The nominee should capture the true essence of brotherhood. This award is for a member that has done something so selfless and moving in the support of another member or fellow rider.
4) Voting will be four times per year. At the end of the quarter all nominations will be added up and the winner will be announced. A Banner will be placed on the successful members profile for 12months.
5) 1st Quart Jan 1st – March 31st
2nd Quarter April 1st - June 30th
3rd Quarter July 1st - September 30th
4th Quarter Oct 1st – Dec 31st
So here is the list Arizona kindly donated to get this off and running.

My vote is simples...

ARIZONA WARRIOR the astonishing, hardest working, back room Warrior-Brother

i lost count years ago, how many times i've felt the need to say 'thank you AzW'

he's never stepped back from coming forwards 'in good faith' the moment a brother calls out for help

if i was over their i'd be greatly honoured to hand him the trophy in person, with the one good arm and hand he's left me [yeah he's got me down for a job here to ]

oops, are we meant to just type a name here like WOM? :D

[heff - i'll edit to save my vote but it needed saying]

I promise my future votes won't consume so much screen space, but I want to say what many of us probably are thinking as we start this new topic: If this vote were for 2002-2011 my vote would be different. If I'd had the presence of mind to begin saving 'links' to these stumbled-across posts back in January of this year, my vote might be different. In future quarters it'll be easier to vote without risk of insulting the many others who also deserve the recognition. In the future I'll probably use this topic to post stumbled-across links as found, just so I know where they are when its time to vote again.

The truth is, I've lost count of how often I've stumbled across a post asking for what amounted to truly emergency assistance. In every case several members had instantly jumped right into the mix with part number information, options, phone calls to help find a part in some remote city or foreign land, even brainstorming solutions at midnight and beyond. In probably a dozen cases a guy's take-off parts were offered free and in maybe another half-dozen cases guys offered to go get the needed part at some parts store and bring it to where the bike is broken down (like Amdman in the recent HarryMarsch topic to help sehusa-knight). We've also seen guys hook-up a trailer and drive a hundred miles to help a guy get his bike to a shop. In at least one case the guy trailered the bike back to his own garage and stored it until the member could retrieve it.

Every month or so I stumble across other posts where a guy can't re-assemble something so a member goes out to his bike and disasssembles it, posts a quick picture how-to in the topic, and helps a job succeed in some other time zone.

Nearly every day I stumble across posts asking for trouble shooting assistance, and there's generally a handful of guys asking questions, offering solutions that worked for them in similar cases, and trying their level best to help navigate toward a solution. In most of these cases, the initial questions bring answers that start to clear things up to the point a 'next layer' of more specific fix-it-solutions are offered-up. And the guys stick-around to help, sometimes even checking-in the next day to see if the member having trouble had been able to fix it.

Seldom have these members met face-to-face, their only common link is the Warrior.

For the 4th Quarter 2011, I respectfully cast my vote for Scawein. Not because others have not been there too, and not because a single instance stands-out. But because in recent months since I started paying attention and logging 'links' inside Popular Mods, I've happened to notice him putting himself out there, often being more helpful than the norm, and often offering advice that right-or-wrong turns out close-enough that the member in trouble was shown to the right path.

Here are just three at-hand examples where Scawein lumbered-up to the plate and took a swing:

I can see this is getting the memories working and being the first one held, it is going to get longer than normal voting posts, but that is good as it shows others think the same about a Brother Warrior in need. I will post my vote early so there is no chance of me tipping the vote.

My vote is for ArizonaWarrior, You have helped so many other members either with info or your clearout of free OEM parts. You have even helped me get this thread up and going. (am I even allowed to vote).

That's up to you, but I'd think of course you are allowed to vote because while you are doing this job for us, you'll become maybe the most 'plugged in' of all of us!

Arizonawarrior should definitely be one of the ones at the top of the list for always being there to help in any way he can,but also at the top of the list should include Alanh for his knowledge has also helped many on this forum with his detailed explanations of his problem solving, wiring diagram, and many other things. This is a hard vote for there are many members that should be included on this list.Kudos to all of you.

I have done so much to my warrior that I should nominate me........BUT!!! I would not have been able to do most of it without the assistance of many brothers on this site, heck there are members that don't even know they have helped another brother out immensely. For all the time and trouble of having posted a varitable warehouse of very useful information, and for being there as well when questions are posted. I will have to nominate ArizonaWarrior. Thanks for everything you have done.

as always you guys are on the money...and yes, given any other vote on this subject i'd be with you guys...but

what i've also noticed is the number of guys now with 'proper' jobs, and boy are they taking it seriously.....kudos guys

this extra traffic has set the forum alight with new and interesting info...and it needed a good all push to get it fired up again...and for that reason alone the first recipient will reflect all this and more

the warrior is still the best bike on the planet ..period

this forum of brother owners is the beacon of light that helps keeps it so

and the knowledge base is the key to our collective success....

and right now one guys persistence of vision has put us here

first name on the plaque and first of many special guys....:D

Mike, AKA ArizonaWarrior. From the littlest gesture to going WAY out of his way to help, the guy is selfless, at least on here.

Without him the world as we know it, would not exist. Ok, that may have gone too far, but you get my drift, right?

And Heff? Your avatar is KILLING me. Can I please just be there to watch?

I'm at a split, Between AlanH and ArizonaWarrior.

Between them there are a lot of resources to be found and they both have spent a lot of their time helping others when problems got rough and complicated.

AlanH has spent less time active in the current forum format but I know he's lurking, since every time his name is called, he pops up and gives a hand. I know in the past he was very active and had a hand in many mods development as an electrical resource. Most know that if you have an electrical problem his advice should be on the top your list. He knows the warrior electrically and mechanically as well.

ArizonaWarrior has been very active in the new and old forum, has spent a lot of his free time in collecting forum info and sharing it in a easier to find format. He's usually one of the first to give advice when a problem arises. AZ is very knowledgeable in a wide area of the Warrior, whether it's electrical, mechanical, plus he knows what thread to point you to when someone else has already been there, done that... and has also contributed to the development of many Mods.

So I'm at a a Split descition...

But since ArizonaWarrior has been nominated so many times (and rightly so), I will then throw in AlanH as my pick so we can have him in this election.

They have both earned a great standing in this forum as far as I'm concerned.

So my vote will be AlanH.

These two have been the most influential with my experience on the site. I have met both and have high respect for their knowledge and experience.

This literally would be a toss up! (tossing coin). ok best two out of three....and the results are: AlanH.
