That's a good one natedog, I think it's the one I used to help do a friends. We didn't go QUITE SO FAR, (1/8" less gringing) and it still performed at the maximum clearance. You don't want to go way less or it could bottom out in that area and be force to split in half. You did a good job of rounding off the edges, newbe's take note. I remember someone on here cut into it with a sawsall and wasn't as careful as we were and it ended up breaking on the road . Not fun or safe. Be sure to inspect it after you've installed it and figure out how it works and it should be clear to you what you have to do.

I got the answer to the FNG question ,but how about these 2?
After the AIS,and BAK ,Does the bike tend to run a little leaner?
Is a good ECU bump equal to a pcIII? or will the pcIII have other benefits I can not achieve with a simple ecu bump??

Yes. It will run leaner, as you will have added more air, but have not added fuel to the ratio. Most here will highly recommend a fuel management device. Opinions vary on using only an ECU bump. I don't recommend that as an answer alone.

Search the 4m. Lots of info about this here. PCIII USB has been a favorite, but there's a new device getting popular. The Cobra CVT. I still use the PCIII an am happy for now. It lets you program a ridged A/F ratio map.

I'm sure others who know more will chime in. Happy modding!

The bike will run leaner due to the BAK, but not due to the AIS.

An ECU bump is not equal to a PCIII because an ECU bump makes the fuel air ratio richer equally across all ranges of RPMs. (There is a group of members who feel the ECU bump only really works on idle, and doesn't affect WOT for example. Others swear it works on all ranges). A PCIII can map different amounts of fuel for different rpms, thus a "custom" map. This is it's main benefit.
Hope this helps...

Hold on, that pic has a bit too much material removed and here's what can happen when you remove too much:
Flip & Grind= Crash & Burn

The entire 5PX should remain. Please view this first: Road Star Warrior Flip-n-Grind [RSW]#

The link has just the right amount removed, I test fit it like ten times. All I did was round the corners to remove stress from the link.

Now you mention it Nate I saw that pic. Just looked again. Installed its nice and tight. There must be relay arms with the 5PX markings positioned slightly differently on the part. The older pics mostly all fit with the entire 'X' still visible. You win!
