Wow, never like to hear/read things like this. It just plain sucks that people like that can get away with doing things like that with barely a slap in the wrist. Unbelievable!!! Our thoughts are with you Laura. Sorry for your loss.

That is so horrible. Our prayers are with you.

I hope the driver gets her due. Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, you can't protect yourself against something like this...somebody else's stupidity and selfishness.

Gene and others here...
This is John's wife, Laura.
I wanted to tell all of you how much John enjoyed the people here and his Warrior. Some of you may know that I bought him his 05 Midnight for Father's Day and snuck it home into our garage without him knowing. Such an awesome surprise for him! He had a picture of it up as a screen saver for a year and we had gone around test driving everything in the world out there. He was IN LOVE with that bike!
The day of the accident he had around 70000 miles on it... 4 years ago we rode from CA to Sturgis to Georgia and back one summer and camped the entire time. We rode everywhere together! Riding was our passion as a married couple.
The manslaughter court date is still pending and I will be going to court to read my statement to the judge and to the woman who hit John. She is only being charged with a misdemeanor because she was not texting nor was she alcohol or drug impaired. But no charge could bring back my husband or turn around my life which is now upside down.

Please keep me in your prayers as Christmas approaches and that I can stay focused on Jesus rather than focused on loneliness.

Laura,
Thank you for thinking of us and letting us know. Your husband was a great member here and will be missed.

Laura, you are in my prayers this holiday season. The grief process takes time. Yes it wll be hard but you do not walk alone through this difficult time. Life is short and eternity is forever. Sounds as if he will be missed by many because he invested his life in so many making a difference for the long haul.

I too share your pain as I lost a brother Christmas day last year. Every holiday is hollow for a year but remember there is one that has promised to walk through the fires and floods with you. Sorry for your loss. If you need someone to talk with or to vent, send me a private message and we can do so. God bless.
