Default Silencer Air Filter Case Trick?

Silencer air filter case
I removed the silencer air filter case to replace the plugs. Now I am finding it difficult to re-install the silencer air filter case. It seems impossible to position it correctly over the throttle bodies. I think I am removing obstacles properly before positioning the silencer air filter case but apparently not.
Is there some obvious point I am missing?
I am not considering a BAK now because I want to keep the bike stock. It is an ’06.
Any hints/tricks would be appreciated.

Welcome to the 4m. First be careful of any of the sensors that are attached.to the box. Dont drop or bang them around. I had to remove all the extra stuff attached to the air box to ease instalation. It helps.if you have a service manual to keep all the hose and wire routings correct. Some members have it in their signature block for easy down load.
I then applied wd40 to the throttle bodies and airbox rubber tubes and it slipped right on.

Good luck.

I had the same issue when re-installing my airbox assembly. You have to be patient, take your time, and make sure there isn't anything obstructing the tubes lining up with the throttle bodies. It also helps to have some good light down there to make sure the tubes seat all the way around the throttle bodies correctlly.

That part of the re-install was the hardest for me but after 4-5 attempts I finally got it. There is a very nice step by step thread floating around here somewhere's. It definetly made the job easier for me.

Default Silencer Air filter Case

Thanks 1256Day and BiggG for the response.
Made some progress today with WD-40 and patience. Now I understand why people replace the stock system.
