The recall is for our protection, if you don't do it they will not take any claim if you get into a fire.
The connection under the tank where the bracket is bolt on is rigid and the vibration eventually will crack the tank with the subsequent gas spill that goes just on top of the cylinder where the spark plugs are, means Immediate fire, Just figure that happens at 60 MPH and you still have to stop and get out of the bike before it blows up, what they do is put a rubber washer in that connection and transfer the vibration to another place (uncomfortable but safe ).
Remember the recall has to be done by the dealer, They will put a punch mark on top of the V of the VIN # that is on the frame and they will have it on record.

I think the vibration you feel on top of the tank, as severe as it feels, is a good thing! If the mount was solid or rigid with no play thats when the damage could start. I hope the vibrating tank will not be a factor in high miles...

It can't be too good if it's scraping paint off of the frame! I watched the dealer do the recall on it so I know it was done , after about 2 weeks each time the fuel level dropped it rattled more & more almost loose enough to get your fingers under it , So i returned to the dealer with the tank & after trying 5 more recall kits (brass colored washer with a thin rubber washer) same problem so I'm back to the original no problems & I'm keeping an eye on it
