I have just tried 2 different filters, one the clown at autozone looked up for me and one from a thread I found on here. Both are incorrect. I was hoping to have a thread of oil filters that people have actually used and that work. No "this one should work because it cross references this..." or "I heard this filter works" Just actual part numbers and brands that you have actually installed. I need a filter now and no one stocks a 303 K&N that I have found..
The dealer is too far away to go get a filter unless I really have to... This will show up in a search and will eliminate confusion and 5 trips to the parts store, which especially sucks when you live in BFE. Thanks, Ryan |

I tried one thats not listed, that the autozone guy looked up for a 02 roadstar. (first shot thinking all yam bikes would use the same filter, doh! guess not)
But I found that the Purolator Pure One PL14620 (which replaces L14620) Hits the Hex Head of the threaded piece. The closest dealership that has any in stock is at least 25 miles away and over an hour round trip. And none of them have a 303 in stock. Would be nice to get one more "locally".... |

I have used the NAPA Gold 1358, its white, paint it black.
Also used Fram 6017A, its black. Your Yammie dealer should have a OEM Denso filter in stock, also fits Road Star & V Max. If you have a Honda (bike)dealer near you, same oil filter fits the 2000 Honda Shadow Sabre 1100. You can put it in stone, don't know about any others that fit except Lucas & Scotts billet filters.

Here's a good list of Oil Filters that fit a Warrior.
Needs to be verified... When looking in a cross reference note that the same filter that fits a RS 1600 fits a Warrior. AC Delco PF2135, about $10. AMSOil SMF103, about $9. FRAM PH6017A, about $7. Honda 15410-MCJ-000, about $12. K&N KN-204, about $13. Has a metric nut on the end for easy removal. NAPA Gold 1358, $7 to $8 Carquest 85358, $7 to $8 WIX 51358 about $7 to $8. Purolator ML16817 about $6. Imported, not made by Purolator. STP SMO 07, about $7. |

If it was hot pink I could deal with it. I dont have a NAPA store within 40 miles, and the only place I knwo that sells WIX doesnt stock em. Im leary of FRAM from my experience around automobiles and a problem I experienced. I might go play guinea pig and report back here if no one else can confirm any other brands. Brands easily available to me are Bosch, STP, AC Delco, FRAM, Purolator, and Mobil 1.

When the autozone guy punched in a 2002 Road Star 1600cc it displayed a STP filter that did not fit my Warrior. Granted its a Auto parts store, but it has listings for motorcycles... |
