Hello again. Recently purchased an 04 Warrior that came with a set of Double T bars that I need to replace in order to get a comfortable riding position.
The first thing I need to do is determine what the specs are of the bars that are on the bike. I come from many years of riding and racing sportbikes and this is my first sport-cruiser so I'm not terribly familiar with all the nuances. Width is pretty easy to understand. It's the rise and pullback that I'm unclear on. Rise - is the measurement from the top face of the triple clamp to the top of the crossbar, correct? (or the top of the grips on non-crossbar bars). Pullback - is the measurement from the center of the mounting holes on the triple clamp to the grips? If this is true, then for the Double T bars the pull back is a component of both the amount of bend in the risers, and the amount of bend in the crossbar, correct? My existing bars measure out to have 1" of pullback in the risers, and 4" of pullback in the crossbar. 9" of rise, and about 34" width. Does this sound like bars for a person with very long arms?? LoL I'm 5'7" and I find myself having to reach forward for them. This bike came from a dealer, and it also had the adapter plates to move the foot controls forward about 2"-3". This makes me think the previous owner was over 6' tall. My measurements indicate that I would like another 6" of pullback, maybe a bit more...does this sound reasonable for someone my size? Thanks again for all your help! |

Here's raw data for some handlebars, and a spot where guys posted pics of their bars (some pics have not been migrated yet):
BTW it doesn't take much more pullback to increase comfort, especially if you keep the width about the same. Handlebars - Photo Topic: Bars Photo Thread - The Yamaha Road Star Warrior Forum Handlebars - Stock - 2002-2003: 11-1/2" pullback 34" wide 6" rise (risers 100mm center-to-center) Handlebars - Stock - 2004-2010: 13" pullback 34" wide 5-1/2" rise (risers 100mm center-to-center) Handlebars - Warrior Bend - 2002-2010: 11-3/8" pullback, 33-3/8" wide, 6-1/2" rise Handlebars - Barons Radius - 2002-2010: 7-1/2" pullback 33" wide 7-1/2" rise Handlebars - Barons Bomber - 2002-2010: 5-1/2" pullback 33" wide 4-1/2" rise Handlebars - Yamaha TT - 2002-2010: 10-1/2" pullback 34-1/4" wide 6-1/2" rise 13/16" grip ID. I've got the following set up:
Yamaha Road Star Warrior Accessories, Yamaha Road Star Warrior Tall Billet Handlebar Risers (Smooth with holes) I bought the bike like that....I'm 5' 4" and a chic. It's about 2 inches to far forward. If I could even get an inch it would be better. I've put on about 4,000 miles with those bars. I JUST wrecked her. High sided her. :-( Bent the bars....since they have to be replaced I'm now looking at the following: Milwaukee Twins Super Radius Handlebars | ZZ50488 | J&P Cycles It only gives me an inch and a 1/4 more pullback, but I've not had an easy time finding something that comes back further....and looks as bad as the drags :-) Hope that helps! |

There is some guesswork here because I can't tell if you have Yamaha Flat Bars or the Stock '04 Bars, so:
What you probably have: Yamaha Flat Bar (STR-5PX75-14-00) w/Risers (STR-5PX75-50-08) 1" dia, 23-3/4" width, 10-1/4" pullback, 6½" rise What you maybe have (assuming it fits together): Yamaha Warrior stock bars w/Risers (STR-5PX75-50-08) 1" dia, 34" width, 13" pullback, 6½" rise What you are installing: Milwaukee Twins Super Radius (ZZ50488) 1-1/4" dia, 33-1/2" width, 11-1/2" pullback, 8" rise Nice Bike, great you are gettin' her fixed up again! ![]()
