Bike: 07 warrior with ram air intake, pro-pipe HS and Cobra Fi2000. Bike has run well.
Question: On my way to my parents (Connecticut to Maine-230 miles) my exhaust baffle started to come loose. It ended up coming out slightly about 20 miles from home. I was able to make it home and undo the screws and pull it out. Its completely unusable as the tabs on the baffle broke and its to rusted to weld. Also, since its the forth all the shops that MIGHT have one are closed. I also have to leave at 7am tomorrow to get to work for noon. My questions is: Can I ride the 230 miles home or would it severly damage the bike doing so? I understand it will be loud, which I can deal with. I just need to know if I have to make other arangements. Bike has 8200 miles, bought it with 6400 miles from a dealer back in May. Pics coming soon. Thanks and Happy 4th! |

If your Fi2000 is the CVT then no worries, otherwise you might run somewhat lean. If the bike begins to pop loudly when pulling-in the clutch of during decel or if the exhaust headers feel extra-extra-hot against your legs while riding then it could be overheating.

I think you will be okay for the trip home. Just don't run it over hard.
Now for the down side. You will not find a shop that has one. Propipe baffles break, that is their nature. I am currently on my second baffle. My first broke and was re-welded twice before it became BER. I was fortunate enough to have obtained a spare a couple years before trashing the original. Now for the good part. I think it was TerryK or perhaps Leaderduece that said awhile back that the monster baffle will work in the propipe. I have been intending to follow up on this, but haven't as of yet. Keep us posted because as a fellow PP owner, I never know when I will be needing another one myself. |

Yes, he is referring to the Cobra auto tune. You can look under your seat and see if your Fi2000 has a red light lit when the engine is running. When you turn the key to start the engine the red light on the module should blink. If you have this CVT then it will automatically compensate for the lean running due to the loss of the baffle.

sweet. Just as long as I know that one will fit. I assume I have the "standard" version since the back of it is plugged. Probably more money, but at least I know I can get one. Thanks! Checking on the CVT now.
