At last a name can be attached to the pic floating around all these years! I've edited the
image in Documentation from saying 'sorry can't remember who' to crediting 99stangit, cool.

Its interesting they obviously knew it was the front running lights that cause the clicking
but didn't describe it that far. Its maybe where the confusion started for some people
between signals and running lights being the cause. But if it had been me I'd have maybe
posted the same way so its a simple case of live and learn!

I'm guessing also, is that the headlight basket? Doesn't look like one.

Fact is we did it back in 2002.

It was either Bill H or myself that came up with the fix however it was not called COD at that time.

Since one of the very first things I do to a new ride is remove the front turn signals & running lights for safety reasons something needed to be done about the then open circuit. Purchased my bike 12-01.

I did not know this, in those days there was nothing to fall back on specific to this bike, and it was all grab-and-growl work then deal with the side-effects if they came up. Was there even a service manual out there yet?

And yet another pioneer Alan..... Only this time a more modern one

This is Tomba's COD fix from last September.. Works a treat. I suppose this relay could have been put into the headlight bucket instead.

WHAT? Grab & growl work? Most of us had many bikes before a Warrior, recognized the Warrior for what it was & bought one. Most guys were good wrenches & paid full retail price just to get one as supply was low & they were hard to find. The one I bought was the only one in a several hundred mile radius.

Much research & mod development that took place during the first year of the Warrior was lost when that imbecile butt head "KOMANDER DOOM" who did not own a Warrior but moderated a Warrior topic on the Delphi forum got pissed at the lot of us, banned Darkstar from the site then, deleted ALL of the Warrior information. Incomprehensible !!!

Most of us migrated to this site when Carknee started it. Some had saved info from the Delphi site on home computers & helped get the ball rolling here.

The lot of you that purchased bikes after the first 3-4 years of production are lucky. If you need to know something about a topic just ask. Most of the "how to" & "whats this" info has been sorted from the get-go. You also have a vast parts aftermarket available now. The first year for this bike did not have a parts aftermarket. The only items available were Yamaha accessories & most of the time they were on back order. The print version of the shop manual was available from the onset. CD version came out several years later.

When you research a topic check the last page of your search topic. You will find many articles from '02, '03, '04 etc.

Can you say "been there, done that?"
