Thanks for the replies. My concern was for the gear lubrication, but it sounds like the consensus is that is not an issue.

is there a pump associated with the gear oil?

Says right in the manual that it's a bad idea for the transmission.

Owners manual, 5-3.

Ive done both the neutral roll into the driveway and the neutral roll out of the driveway. No problems. Drags like **** if its still in gear with the clutch pulled in, no guud.

no it doesnt. it says for long distances. I know that is vague and a little subjective but even a fat guy like me can walk 50 yards without getting winded. if any coasting was unsafe they wouldnt qualify it with "Long" heck i think most folks coast longer than 50 yards when pulling to a stop light

50 yards may be a bit long since I engine brake to a stop. is that bad?
I don't think coasting will hurt anything.

OP asked about engine-off coasting. 50 yards every time you ride would add up.
"The transmission is properly lubricated only when the engine is running."

My other answer would be get a pipe that allows you to come and go without a noise complaint.
