Default R1 Upper Controls - Help me identify what I have here...

Ive got a Yamaha tech friend with "stuff in a box"... He says its off a 2006-2008 R1. Also, These will fit the clutch perch and master cyl. I'll have to grind them open to fit the TT bars. In this pic is a Kawasaki versys clamp for the master cylinder to attach the mirror??? I dont even know what that is...

MY QUESTION: I want Black uppers controls...and I like the adjustability of the R1 stuff ive seen (like the ones in this pic).

Is anyone (jbat?) good enough to look at the pic below and tell me if this will all work? what else do i need? Is this good/quality uppers?

sent you a pm but yeah, looks like everything but a reservoir is there, look at the Rizoma reservoirs and get you a nice one. The Kawi part for the master cylinder is because the stock setup has the mirrors mounting in the front master cylinder and on the clutch perch, so when you go to the R1 setup you have no where to put mirrors, by using the Kawi clamp for the back half of the master cylinder clamp you can now mount your mirror in it. I decided to just go with bar end mirrors as there is still no place to put one on the left side.

that one will work you will just have to figure out how to mount it cause the hose comes out the bottom. looks like it comes with a little bracket though that you could screw to your handlebar like I did and then run the hose from it. I know 60ftgap's nipple was offset and it screwed in from the bottom so he just ran a screw through his bar from the bottom into the reservoir.

Nice pic...cool looking....do you have more pics you can post of your set up? I think im looking for a smaller foot print vibe... even that one on ebay for $60 looks like it would stick up too high for me...

I like the industrial look though.

check out this website and then when you find one you like you can see what different vendors prices are. Universal Fluid Tanks by Rizoma Bikes Accessories - and honestly I have seen a bunch of sportbike guys just run a couple inch long piece of hose straight up off the nipple, fill it full of fluid, and cap it. some of them use clear hose to see the level some just use black hose.

This is why i LOVE this F'n fourm... every time I have an idea for the direction i want to go in, SOMEBODY's done it, and has it all worked out for me... love the black / red levers... and 60ft's direct bar mounted brake res mount is EXACTLY what im looking for...but in black!

Do we know if this direct bar mount worked for him? Has he had any issues? 60...CHIME IN MAN!

I can already see that being a big job for me as i have internally wired TT's...

I guess thats what winter time is for up here in Boston!
