Matte black vs Gloss black speedstar air cleaner assembly… difference?
The Star Motorcycles website shows STR-5PX09-57-YB as the manufacturer part number. Yamaha Road Star Warrior Accessories, Yamaha Road Star Warrior Speedstar Chrome Air Cleaner Assembly The search for an onyx black air cleaner assembly turns up both a matte and gloss version which has the same part number. The matte black has an extra scoop, does anyone know the difference? If you click on the first link in the OP, it takes you to Yamaha's official site. You'll see the scoop there, it is genuine Yamaha.

So I received the air cleaner assembly earlier this week and it's the gloss black one (the air filter was included but was not expecting it). Just wanted to update the thread for those who are looking at maybe buying one.

First of all IMO there is only a shadow photographed in the pic both black and chrome, so it is not additional something. Furthermore there is no matte black available, only the gloss ONYX. And the last pic is a V-Star 1100 Speed* assembly. I adressed the similar question a year ago already
