Hey guys,
I have been battling with my bike for the last couple days since it is my main source of transportation. So a week ago I came out of school and found my bike unable to turn over, I thought that since it just sounded like it didn't have enough umph to turn over that maybe the battery was dead. So I replaced the battery, didn't fix it. So I did some tests and by touching the cables together that are on the solenoid I learned that since the starter engaged it wasn't the starter that was bad. SO I replaced the solenoid and it started up and I took it around the block. I came out the next day, it wouldn't start again, more of the same. So I took the solenoid back and got another, and now it still won't fire up. You can hear the starter trying to do its job, but I don't know what is wrong. I am technically challenged and I need help! Any input that you could give at all would be great, thanks! |

I'm not a expert, but maybe the decompression solenoid???. Maybe if you posted more info on your bike, Year, Custom Dynamics LED tail light, any LED turn signals, internal wiring in the bars, miles , it might help. G

Thanks guys, I will go check it now, i thought maybe the battery cable was not currenting enough electricity so I bought a new one, same problem. I will check to see if its the de comp solenoid. As far as modifications go I have none other than power commander and the exhaust. Everything internally is stock.

there is a way to check the decomp solenoid but i don't know what it is. there are people on here who do but traffic is way down these days. i'm sure it's in the manual, which you can get {and need to} from this site.

Branigan,
I believe Leader Duece has the on line manual in his signature block. Take a look in the fuse box and check and see if the Decompression solenoid fuse is good. It should be a 15 amp fuse. In Chapter 7, Page 7-27, there is the test sequence's for the Decompression solenoid (thermistor) and the Decompresion solenoid. i'll try to scan the procedure and post it. G
