When I purchased my Warrior, I did a lot of research on it after I saw my first one.
Everything I read was that the warrior was a cross between a cruiser and a sport bike.
And I have found that to be true.... I love the twisties as much as anyone else, but at my age, I'm really no longer interested in dragging my knee on the asphalt while going thru the turns. So, if I sacrifice a little of it's handling to get the look I want, so be it. With that said, does anyone know the what tire I can put on the my baby to give it the look of that tire on the Fat Bob?

Yamaha says a 120/70-18 is the stock front tire on a Warrior, and the Harley has a 130/90B16 67H

So, what would be the widest tire I could run on the front keeping the 18 inch rim??
Don't care if I have to do some modding to the fender.

My RSTD has a 150 up front. Yes, it does find those cracks and ripples.

I have a metzler 130/60x18 on mine, plenty of gap as i have a gravel driveway
others run a 130/70x18 but it is very close to the guard & may pick up the odd stone

I love the idea and look of a BOLD front, I just dont know if i like a fat front or a tall front! As some of you know from other posts ( Any 21" front wheels fit perfectly? ), Im also very interested in the 21" front rim.

below is a member's bike (cant remember who as ive had it for some time now) that has a 200/40 on the stock 17? Dont our bikes have 18"?

Before I make a decision on which way to go, Im trying to understand how each of these mods impacts the "feel" (handling) of the bike. The fat tire front i would guess keeps the geometry the same, but due to the width of the tire, you sacrifice lean effort as there's more tire to lean over into?

bclay9's bike looks fantastic, but he has done EXTENSIVE mods to his frame neck and trees to adjust his geometry for the 21 rim

midnight run's approach was to simply put the 21 rim on the stock neck and upgrade to R1 forks which are 1 inch shorter i think...

Theres A LOT to figure out with regards to how far to go to get what look you want, and at what expense (both cash and handling).

Makes my head hurt...I almost just wish i could go on a cross country tour and ride all these members bikes to know so i could make up my mind!!

FYI - Alanh turned me on to this as a site to learm about all this steering geometry (thanks Alan) Gear Head College • Motorcycle Geometry

this is new to me... a wider tires rides worse over cracks and ripples than a narrower tire..?? That is counter intuitive...

why? anyone know?

Jeesh , learning about this front tire mod $hit is kicking my A$$....

The warriors stock front wheel is an 18" but the r1 17" wheel will fit our forks as well. As far as not riding as good my guess would be something to so with more rubber on the road, so more to stick in the grooves and feel the cracks with. Could be something to do with the changed aspect ratio of going to a wider front too.

Or if he put a 200 on the front he probably has a custom setup anyways
