Default Having trouble fitting my clutch onto new bars

I picked up a set of cruiser performance bars 1025b (black powder coat) and I cant for the life of me get my clutch perch to slide onto the new bars. Any suggestions? Anyone else had similar problems? I know not to spread the opening cuz that could crack the perch. It seems the coating on the bars is thick dont know if thats normal but it chipped a bit when I was trying to put the perch on.

You can spread the perch slightly with a big screwdriver and you'll be ok. It's when you spread it more than once that you're in trouble. If it does break, they're about $13.50 to replace.
