Hello everyone, I am in the process of doing a heel toe shifter swap on my 2009 Midnight Warrior. I used the parts list that kichigai posted in another thread for a Road Star heel toe shifter assembly that he says is a direct bolt on. I also ordered some Kuryakyn parts. The first being Kuryakyn splined footpeg mounts #8818, as well as Kuryakyn floorboards #4357. The Kuryakyn parts are scheduled for delivery in a couple of days. As soon as I receive those parts I will begin putting the whole thing together. The only delay I may have is that as of right now, since my bike is a Midnight Warrior, I may decide to have the two heel toe shifter pieces powder coated black. Either way, I will post pics as soon as I can in case anyone else is interested in doing this too.
![]() kichigai posted this list for the heel toe shifter... 1 each 1D7-18162-10-00 - PEDAL, SHIFT 1 each 1D7-18163-10-00 - PEDAL, REAR 1 each 5VN-18113-00-00 - .COVER, SHIFT PEDAL 1 each 95024-06020-00 - BOLT, FLANGE 1 each 4WM-18154-00-00 - COVER, DUST 1 each 91314-06025-00 - BOLT 1 each 92902-06600-00 - WASHER and this is my addition to the list... Thank you guys for the warm welcome. I checked around today and it appears that for the wear and tear so to speak that the heel toe shifter will go through, I am told that powder coating it would probably only last a year or two, and that since the parts are cast with a brushed finish that anodizing the parts is not advised as well, so it looks like I will be able to put it all together tomorrow night. I will take plenty of pics for everyone as well.

Ok, I finished the conversion today. All together, it took me about one hour. I will post the pics tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. I started off by getting all of my parts sorted to do the conversion. I took off the cotter pins for the footpegs and removed the securing pin. I then removed the footpegs and their springs. Those will not be re-used. The Kuryakyn splined adapter mounts were pretty easy to install except for the shims that come with them for a tight fit. What I did to assist me with this was to use a small awl to push through the hole and rotate in a circular motion to line up all of the pieces so I could insert the securing pin and cotter pin again. Then I removed the stock shifter bolt and removed the stock shifter. This also will not be reused. I then installed the Road Star Shifter Assembly onto the bike. The two pieces for the heel toe shifter have a notch to show you where it is recommended to line up the two when they are put together. I didn't like how close the heel portion of the shifter was to the engine case so I used a small washer to put behind the assembly to try and give me a little more room. The heel portion does rub the engine case a little still so I was thinking of using a piece of felt type material to put on the flat portion of the heel shifter to keep from possibly scratching the case. One of the parts from kichigai's list, the "4WM-18154-00-00 - COVER, DUST" I did not use. I just left the original one that was on the Warrior from the factory. Lastly, I installed the Kuryakyn floorboards to the splined adapter mounts. There are five different holes you can use for your own comfort. I decided to use the one in the middle. I also tilted the front of the floorboards up a couple of notches and I felt that was the best setting for me.
Oh, and one last thing... I took it around the block a couple times before work and it felt great! |

Here is a pic of the Road Star heel toe shifter assembly and the Kuryakyn splined adapters #8818. In the heel toe shifter pic you can see the small black dust cover which I decided not to use. Once the adapters are installed you can adjust the angle you want with an allen wrench in the two holes.

The first pic here shows the dust cover which I decided to use which was already on my Warrior. The second pic shows the washer that I added to give me a little more clearance for the heel portion of the shifter to be away from the enine case. The third pic shows where the washer is when the shifter assembly is put on the bike. The fourth pic shows where the heel portion of the shifter is in relation to the engine case.
