Default Stock Bars with Tall Billet Handlebar Risers (Smooth with holes)

I have drag bars and the above mentioned risers, both from Yamaha's accesories site. I high side my bike and bent the bars. The current bars looked sweet, but I need bars that will come straight back just a few more inches. Looking to put the stock bars on with the current risers. Will this work? Thx!

I bought a stock bar a couple months ago and I have those same risers. I just havent taken the time to see if it would work. I figured it would require longer cables. If you try it, let us know.

I added the Barons 3.5" risers to my stock bars.

It put it back right where I want it and it works with the stock cables and brake lines.. BUUUUTTTT...

The brake lines are stretched to the limit and the throttle cables will actually bind at full right turn (like maneuvering bike around parking lots).

I'm not sure how tall the Yami risers are but if they add about 3" to the bar height.. you'll be in the same boat.

Note... You can play with the rotation of the bars in the risers to slacken the lines and stuff a bit, but be careful you don't hit the tank with them too low!!

Good luck!

Regardless it looks like I'll have to replace cables if I go back further but that's good to know about the stock cables. Will repost the outcome when I figure it all out! :-)

I have, Flat Bars STR-5PX75-14-00 and 6" Risers STR-5PX75-50-08 also added one Inch Riser Extensions for a little more pull back, cables are at there limit but work fine.

Just remembered I bought it this way but I'm almost sure these are stock cables

I would not recommend Stock Bars with Tall Yami Billet Risers as you'll be a SAIL because of the set-back but it will work with new brake hose and probably new cables i suspect.
I believe Bruce aka Riverat has the Baron billet risers with stock bars which isn't quite as much set-back imo.

You should be able to pick-up a Flanders drag bar, for little $'s, that will do the task and replace the damaged bar. In my gallery are several flavors using the Warrior bend bar, stock & medium Yami risers as well as the Flanders for an example and in my Flickr photos there is lots of stuff!

The Yami medium risers and stock bars work well with the stock lines/cables...
I initially bought the tall ones and couldn't get it to fit with the stock lines/cables...

God Bless,
