Default xtended swingarm project teaser

Hey guys just wanted to post this so you can give me enough greif to finish it that i actually will. picked up a set of rims and swingarm off of a victory jackpot. not being satisfied with a bike that actually runs and requires nothing I knew it was time to bastardize it. The bike in the picture is not mine but a fellow rsw members that is in our shop. Just so happens that his swingarm was out for mods so I jumped in at the chance to make this project work. It requires alot more than just bolting it on but so far im liking the results. the victory is about 4 inches longer than stock. let me know what you think and please bug me until i finish it. enjoy.

Stock vs. victory swingarm

Do you plan to cut and weld-in the relay arm connection bracket?
Whats the plan for determining rear suspension ride height and shock travel?
This sounds challenging so I'll check in again!

A Roadliner or Raider one might be closer. I hear the Roady boys change out to the Raider when they go fat rear. Apparently they are interchangeable. Not sure how they fit the Warrior though.

Just search his name and swingarm and you'll find a post about it.

That just doesn't look.right, unless you like that look. I'm betting we almost could get a raider swingarm and rear rim and that would be a cheap way to do a 240 since you can run a 240. On there stock rim.

This just looks like the north end of a southbound rat, but the I could envision Kustomoz's mod with a stretched tank and a nice rear fender, maybe a 10 or so degree rake...... sweet...

My main purpose for this project is for drag days. My plan is to make this an easy swap so I can still use my stock swingarm for daily riding. that being said the short term plan is to strut the rear suspension with adjustable dog bones and strut. I will have to make my own connecter for this and more than likely machine one once I've made my final decision on what I like. It may work out that I can use the stock suspension and only ned the adjustable dog bones, but I'll crossthat bridge when I get there.

We all have our own opinions of what looks good - accepted.
I'm not really criticising - but I just don't get it.
I'm not talking about "custom" bikes here - but sport bikes.

I understand the extended swingarm principal for drag racing purposes,
but the trend of butchering sweet handling sport bikes and extending them 6" for day to day street use has always seemed stupid to me.

When I visited the US a couple of years ago most of the bikes I saw (apart from Harleys) were GSXR's and CBR's with long swingarms -
but little or nothing else that would qualify them as custom or tricked out in any way.
I did however see a beautifully done Hyabusa with 300 rear and lots of chrome.
Much more of a "statement" and obviously the outcome of a lot of effort.
If you're gonna struggle to get round a corner or bend - at least look good doing it!

Many cruiser owners are prepared to sacrifice some handling and that makes sense because it's all about the look
and not so much about performance.... but on a stock sport bike. . . . why would you do it?

Is that not like buying a Ferrari and putting F100 suspension on it?
