Default Easy Memphis Shades Batwing

So after much thought, I purchased the Batwing fairing and can give a step by step of the install.

First you need the Batwing (duh) and the mounting kit. From home depot or equivalent, 2x 1/4 x 1 hex cap bolts. Since MS does not make a kit for the Warrior, I chose the Raider kit. I uninstalled my Clearview windshield and the BLVD brackets. First mount the top fork clamps using the original screws. Next mount the lower ones using the new longer screws. you will have to start with the clamps up by the top and then slide them down over the fork tubes as they get larger in diameter (hence the need for the larger screws). Leave them loose so you can adjust as necessary.

With the BWing comes two brackets that mount to the newly installed clamps. You need to bend the two tabs (very easy to identify) that mount to the fairing. The angle is about 140 and needs to be about 100. This narrows the mount point from the Raider to the Warrior width. Mount these to the fairing but keep hand tight.

Last step is fitment. Adjust the clamps the the ride height. The clamps have the quick connect buttons that can be moved forward to adjust the angle of the fairing as well. Tighten the fork clamps, then the fairing brackets. The brackets have about 1" of adjustment up and down as well.

Took about an hour...you are done!!! Enjoy.

Nice write up, thanks. Looks really nice, how is the ride with it on?

Ride was good. Rode from Monroe, WA to Kirkland and back. Maybe 40 Miles. For the first time I could ride with a 3/4 helmet. No buffeting like I got with the clearview. I look over the windscreen by a couple of inches so I still need eye protection, but well worth the expense...

looks great! Just confirming you ordered the shade and mounting kit for the Raider, bought the longer bolts and that was it? You bent the Raider brackets to fit the Warrior forks? Sounds to easy, I really want to do this, just making sure I do it right the first time. JT

So what slip-on exhaust are you using? Is it quiet?

Yes. Order the raider kit. The go to Home depot or Lowes and get two 1 1/4 or 1 " hex cap bolts. The two brackets that are used for the quick disconnect need to be bent. I did it with a bench vise. About 105 degrees and you are very close. If you want more pics let me know and I will take them.
Also the exhaust is from M4. Original exhaust was the same but carbon fiber. It burned through at the hanger bracket, so I go it in Stainless steel. Best sounding sleeper on the road, until I twist the throttle, then it rattles my teeth and neighboring car alarms.
