Default Morton Executioners dragging tips

For those that like the Morton Executioner pipes and don't like the tips dragging i thought i would post my remedy. I cut the tips off so i could re-use them, then cut 2 1/2" off of both pipes and then welded them back on which made them staggered. I also cut a piece off of the stock header heat shield and added it to the rear heat shield to cover the whole pipe because it was burning my leg. Those that have the heat shields know the rear shield does not go all the way to the flange and heats up pretty good. Hope this helps those who like the executioners.

I painted the pipes so they would not rust till i had them chromed again. Here they are finished.

Very cool! So the big question is....do they scrape?

No they do not scrape. I think the foot pegs would be ground off before they scrape now. I am real happy with them. Not nearly as loud as i thought they would be. The hardest part was making the rear mount for them, but i got it worked out. I wish Mortons would step up and make them like this instead of continuing to make them to long for our bike. Here's your sign.

Cool. The jobs you take care of yourself are the best, turned out great. Will look even better once they're chromed

Gilly,

Nice write up. I familiar with several issues that come with the executioners. I've scraped them, burned some of my pants and had problems getting them to seal when I first installed. Even with all that, I have to say I love the way they sound and look.
Your morton's look great. Great job.

Nice one Gilly - I always wondered about ground clearance with those style pipes.
Maybe Mortons should have a look at those photos!

Perhaps you'll find yourself doing a shortening service for other members!
