Just got back from a trip to the Outer Banks. First time I've been there. Ate some seafood during the trip but the most memorable meal was at Top Dog Cafe where I ate a 1 1/2 pound burger topped with jalapenos and jack cheese. NOM NOM NOM!!! Good stuff!!!
![]() ![]() I ate *almost* all of it. All but about two small bites. I'm sure I could have finished it but didn't want to feel miserable the rest of the day. Here's the part I did not finish:

That looks killer!
Just finished my salad for lunch Trying (unsuccessfully so far) to lose some weight. Maybe I can have a grape later if I get really hungry...

OK, for my 10,000th post... Not exactly a culinary feat but d@mn this turned out good. Made some homemade french fries (just cut up about 7 big Russet potatoes, soaked them in water an hour or so, rinsed/drained them, deep-fried them), added some seasoning salt (Johnny's), a bunch of smoked cheddar cheese, put that in the oven to stay hot, fried up the other half of the fries, dumped those on top of the original pile o' fries, added more seasoning salt and smoked cheddar, put it all in the oven on high broil for a few minutes, then scooped up a bunch of them onto a plate (styrofoam, of course) and COVERED them in brown gravy and added a little bit of fresh-ground black pepper because that's how I roll. Holy sh!t that was good with 8-9 ice-cold beers!
