Default Some extra info on a members bike

hey guys just wanted to let you guys know about hgt518, i nominated him for Warrior of the month because he's put a lot of money into his warrior and he hasn't had the best of luck. From the patrick racing 110 kit to a 260 rear tire and some beautiful aftermarket rims, his bike is a beast. i had the pleasure to see it at one of our NY meetups and let me tell you its a beauty! he's had two accidents this year and this is his first season after all the expensive mods. if i remember correctly it was some guy who hit him and the other one was him loosing traction of the rear wheel in a corner. very unfortunate stuff, especially two in one season. so of course seeing how the second accident was a month or so ago the season is pretty much over for us in NY. So anyways no more sobbing bs here, here's the link for the Warrior of the month. Let's do this

I'm going to say it for those who are thinking it - I have a lot of friends here on the forum. When you say "let's help our friend win" I'm all for it if your talking about star bike of the month. But to vote for that particular reason here isn't fair to the other members, who are also friends of ours. Furthermore, to vote for his bike because he had a run of bad luck kind of demeans the award. Plus, would he want to win that way?

Now if members vote for his bike because its a fine bike - and it really is - then that's awesome. We all would support that. And I think he has a real chance of winning, just on the merits of his bike.

Lets just vote on awesome bikes that we're all jealous of and leave it at that

I totally hope I didn't come across wrong here... Please don't take this wrong...

i just wanted to have something to maybe cheer him up or something and let people know about what else he's done to the bike that you cant see in a picture. now granted maybe the title wasnt worded the best i could, but let's just blame a long day at work and the time on that one lol. once again i've seen plenty of other people do this kind of advertising or whatever you wanna call it to have people vote for their bike, so its not like im totally outta the loop here right? but anyways i also didnt want to offend because we're all a good community and we're all brothers, the reason i used friend is because he's a friend of mine, didnt mean to belittle anyone else thats for sure!

As Leaderduece mentioned you can get yourself into trouble asking for votes, I mistakenly learned the hard way. But I'll still vote for hgt518 because I like contenders who have actually done more than take some stuff off, bolt some stuff on, and a rattle can paint job. You can tell by the 260 and the engine rebuild that hgt518 has taken his bike down to the bare bones and made some good decisions putting it back together. I also like your friends orange bike, I'll check it out next month.

I agree, it's bike of the month not cheer someone up time. If he needs cheered up then let's buy him a beer. That said he does have one fine machine that anyone should be proud of owning.

As far as asking for votes go it is "usually" for another web contest or function and not something within rswarrior

That's good of you AMA - fair play to you.

BUT- I agree with the others on this.

I am sure I can speak for everyone here when I say that no-one likes to hear about somebody having the bad luck that hgt518 has had this year.
He has got a nice bike - no doubt about it.
I've watched him transform his warrior with those wheels etc.

Lets hope things get better for him ...... and once again - that was a nice thought.

well i know of three people off hand that have done this type of thread within rswarrior, but anyways this has been blown way out of proportion. its really not as big a deal, if you wanna vote for someone else go ahead i was just trying to do a nice thing-thanks jarv for somewhat agreeing with me!

I don't think I blew it out of proportion - I sure tried not to. Most threads that solicit votes are trying to get votes for star bike of the month - on another website. As Rquest noted, when he tried to solicit votes some people got upset. Just trying to keep this low key is all...

I may have made a mistake about Ama who had the friend with the candy orange bike. I know I saw a picture of it just last week. If anyone knows it'd be cool, we need to change the topic on this thread anyways.
