I was in Austin when the "outlaw country" music took hold. I met a bunch of them guys. Willie and Waylon were GREAT. Went to Willie's private club. Those folks were traditional country, then let their hair grow long and then mixed county with rock, oh they got high a lil too.
I still love country rock ...
Never met Merle, he was California Country, a nice mixture of his own style of country/rock music, have more of his tunes than any of the others.

That is the way I felt last night while viewing the TV and the internet, if you know what I mean. It was like a football game, back and forth etc.
