Been 160 on a CBR me and my buddy met a GA STATE TROOPER, They have us on tape.. We got lucky and didn't get caught. Yep only a matter of time before something bad happened so I sold it.. Now I got the warrior to just cruise with the wifey!!!

BiggG it was the same for me, I get on a cafe bike and my balls are instantly bigger than my brain. I did a LOT of stupid things in my younger years, I think surviving it all has made me a better rider today though. Now that I'm no longer intentionally putting myself in a bad situation I'm more relaxed and enjoy it more, but when someone else puts more in those situations my reactions are the proper ones.

I think we all did reckless stuff back when we were young. Fastest I've ever did on a bike was 148 on a 1978 XS 1100 on the Queen Elizabeth Parkway between Montreal and Quebec back in 1979. We used to out run the police all the time on 250's when we were kids. Always at night, early mornings, dark. Just hit it when you saw them pull out to get you, get out of sight , duck into someones back yard or some other hiding place, turn off the lights, and wait until they came roaring by, then after they were out of sight go back the other way. That stuff was exciting and fun back when you were not to bright,
but experience is a hard teacher...

Not trying to threadjack this post so I'll just say this ........
I enjoy watching the slingshots/sportbikers and to each their own but I have my 19-20 yrs of dumb shishhhhh I did on sportbikes that would more than likely put me **under** a jail/prison. That's what I think about everytime I mount my Warrior. The average dude who mounts 1 that is capable of doing 180-200 mph will try to take it to it's limits which is foolish but reality. Glad I was a little smarter than that though. I've been riding bikes since the age of 12 and I'm 50 yrs old now and 1 of the lucky 1's who never went down, never broke a bone in my life and made it thus far with no scars or road rash other than a slight muffler burned right leg. I've seen/witnessed bike accidents in front of me resulting in death . Trust after you see 2-3 of those it pretty much gives you a whole new respect for biking. |

I was in my patrol car one day following a guy on a gsxr600. No lights and sirens. I was doing 120 in my car and he was pulling away from me at a steady rate. I finally caught up to him at a red light and when I turned on my lights and sirens to my surprise he immediately pulled over into a gas station lot. He was shaking like crazy and could barely get his information out. Gave him a verbal warning to slow down and let him go. I have an R6 along with my warrior so I understand the love of speed. I've done my fair share of speeding, but I would recommend saving the speed for the track and not running from the police. With radios and cameras everywhere now its easy for us to track you without even being in our cars. And I don't know of too many out there that would just give verbal warnings for doing 85+ over the speed limit.

Most officers I know are nice, but they aren't that nice! That was a very cool thing to do, hopefully the guy smartened up after that anyway. Sounds like he was pretty freaked out.
