Default Craigslist scam

I have my Warrior listed for sale on Craigslist.

Below are the kind of responses I am getting.

It seems Craigslist is the SCAMER'S site of chose.

Just a heads up on the BS that takes place on Craigslist.

Hi ,
Thanks for the swift response, just to let you know that am okay with the condition and price of the item, am ready for its purchase and my form of payment will be by PayPal.I would have really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be possible as am on work inspection to Mexico at the moment and I do not have access to a
phone here, but if you have more pictures, might want to have a good look.

I'll be responsible for the pick-up and the pick up money will be included in your payment to avoid delay and to enable pick up
company to schedule an appropriate time for the pick-up at your location after funds has been received as I have other properties to be moved alongside with yours.

All I will need is your PayPal email address to make the payment and I will send the money as a gift so you'll not be charged by PayPal and then I will make arrangement for pick up.I will be expecting your email.

Thanks.

Yeah, I was getting those too. I sold my son's Ninja and got several, one of them, I actually get pissed and sent a reply, "F you!"

Well of course it was a real person who replied, "man, you sound angry!"

I apologized to him, hopefully he accepted it but it did make us laugh.

+1 BEWARE!!!!!

Craigslist is riddled with scammers. You can pretty can tell by their scammer grammer responses. I normally respond by sending them a reply stating that I'm reporting them to Craigslist & the PO-PO. You can also Edit your CL ad stating U.S. Cash & Carry Deal with **No Shipping** Only & all scam resposes will be reported. That normally helps.

I read a newspaper article last year about a guy who sold his car after getting a similar email, except the grammer was correct. The paypal came thru and he released the title and the shipper took the car. A few hours later he got a locked-account notice from paypal because the credit card used was stolen. But by the time the 'system' caught-up with that the car was gone and the money was refunded back to the credit card company. The article recommended not advertising your street address because sometimes if the scammers can't steal it one way they will steal it from your driveway. They really just use the web to locate what they want then they find a way to get it. IMO considering the odds its smart of you to recognize this for what it 99% probably is!

I had a guy go as far as to send me a cashiers check that looked legit but as cautious as I am I took it to my bank to have it checked out.......and I'm sure y'all guessed it....it was fake!!! so if you sell on craigslist, only sell to someone who comes to you with CASH in hand or takes you to their bank for transaction!!

As far as checks go, My son told me he heard the best line, "If you want to prove your check is good, cash it on the way over here."

NO CHECKS EVER.....most times, you should not even meet at your house....pick an open neutral place to meet....trust your gut on this...

+1 on all of this. Most people don't realize you can put a stop payment on cashier's checks...I would never take one unless we went to the bank together and cashed it. Oh, and I would be carrying too for the walk out of the bank.

When I sold my Supercharged V-Max. The buyer gave me cash, I checked everyone of those bills to verify they were not counterfeit.

Even cash these days doesn't guarantee that you will not get burned!

Just sold my V Star 650 on Craigslist. Took 3wks, after some 35 replies, only 2 of them were legitimate buyers. One lowballed me and the other brought cash and is now a happy owner. Yea- never have them come to your residence. We met up at the local Target parking lot.
