Mike, you may need more than 2 hours, The closer to room temp you can get the meat to before putting it in the oven, the better...I let mine sit for 5 hours sometimes (covered of course).
Well normally I would spring for the prime but this not having a job thing is starting to get in the way.

You are are wayy right about the time. I was thinking that since it was a small roast it wouldnt take near as long. I got it up to 49 degrees before putting it in the oven...took just about 3hrs to get it to 125 and another hour(give or take) to get it to 135. its now 10pm and im just getting ready to carve. i really thought it would take about 2hrs less than it did. I was hoping to eat at around 8.

Mine turned out great! I will continue to work on the rub that came out "so-so" but a rub is alwayswhat you make of it and is not reflected on this recipe at all. I probably ate about almost a pound last night and another 1/lb for breakfast(my colon hates me) A+ Keeper recipe!

Just wanted to say "Thanks". I used your recipe for our family gathering and it was a big hit. There were turkey and ham leftovers, but the roast beef was long gone.
