the 7.3 are the best of the ford brand and yes they are hard to find and your going to pay, the people that have them are holding on to them

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but am facing a similar problem with a 2005 5.4. Have done the reading regarding changing plugs; has anyone here done it themselves? Is it really that bad?

Did mine a couple months ago... 5k miles ago.
There WAS LOTS of carbon on the plugs. I'm sure I would have mangled the threads, had I not known.

BUT

You have an 05 and the plug issues are different from my 00.

I would but they are a Chrysler Jeep shop, don't think they even work on Fords and this issue is specific to the 5.4 Ford motor. Thanks though!

yeah he wouldnt know all he does is jeep and dodge, but he still likes ford.. odd
