Default Sidecars on sportbikes?

It would appear that sidecars are alive and well - and living in France!

This is like a "car tyre on sportbikes" fest ha ha !

The commentary is in French - but it's easy enough to get the gist of it.

Interesting!

Something that I remembered halfway through the video is that if you click the "cc" button, it will subtitle the audio into english (youtube uses google translate to close caption). Apparently, the word that they use for the sidecar passenger literally translates to monkey... which I found hilarious the first time I saw it, when the guy talking said that there was a lot of dead weight that caused a lot of understeer but that "it wasn't the monkey, it was the basket he was in".

I've got a soft spot for sidecars, but I don't know that a supersport is the best match up for one... although those do look reasonably slick.

Didn't someone a while back post about putting a sidecar on their warrior?

Sidecar racing has been around since the 70's at least, and as far as I know, they've always called the sidecar passenger (co-rider?) the monkey. As we supposed years ago we weren't sure it had to do with the way he climbs around all over the side car or more to do with the sense displayed in attempting it in the first place.

Check out this link, Sidecar HSR Road Atlanta - FM Forums, for some cool pics of it.
