I never saw Christmas Story until after I had married my wife, 5 years ago. It instantly became 1) my favorite Christmas movie, bumping "Muppets Christmas Carol" and 2) our only real tradition so far, watching the movie while decorating the tree.

The movie is really A+++++++++!

Its a wonderful Life was a classic. It was basically on every channel starting Dec 20, but NBC bought the rights if I'm not mistaken. Now its only on once. I would watch the PBS version back in Chicago coz when George started yelling Merry Christmas it was at exactly 12 midnight. Man this brings me back.
Also how the grinch stole christmas is a classic as well (the 20 minute cartoon not the Jim Carrey crap)
Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that is a great classic. Along with "A Christmas Carol" who can forget little Tiny Tim? The Grinch is cool too! Little " Cindy Lu " is too cute! What a great time of year!

Mine too! I finally broke down and bought the DVD so I can retire the VHS! My daughter and I watch this ever year for the holidays... I bloody LOVE it!

"Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny f*****g Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white a** down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of a**holes this side of the nuthouse!"

The TV shows or movies that remind me of Xmas PAST are ...

Really miss Charlie Brown, havent seen him in years...

And the old puppet animated musical from Bass/Rankin

These were all pre 1970, these were my hallmarks for an upcoming holiday. They dont get played much now, much less Charllie Brown..

Later came a few more Bass/Rankin animated musicals that grew on me but not like the first 2 above...

Later titles like...

The Little Drummer Boy
Frosty the Snowman
Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town
Jack Frost
