Default God do I hate windows 8!

I doubt seriously that they changed anything in the program, they just added a new interface to look like iMac making for several more moves in order to get to where you want to go. Also there is no way of re-installing your older ver without a complete format and full clean install.

Change sucks. I sure in a year you will like it more. Do you have a touchscreen monitor? That is suppose to make it better.

I beta tested for a few weeks. I did not care for it either.

jeeeesh.... I dread even thinking about having to deal with this... they change the shape, color and location of a few buttons, and charge us for the new OS...

Keep up with technology or die. I didn't like a few things about it when I cranked it up the first time. It has grown on me enough that I picked up a Win8 phone.

They aint going back because you don't like it so you can either get over it or buy a box of pencils and some paper.. LOL

Every new system has a learning curve, I.e. frustration level versus comfort level. The comfort level will come and when the next update comes you will be able to be frustrated with that change too! Enjoy

Window8 phones are nice. I've been a PC guy all my life, used to Windows OS, liked 'em (PCs) since I could build one to my own specs. Recently need another laptop (I run XP Pro on all my machines)......of course, now they're coming with Win8 pre-loads. Since I already had an iPhone and iPad.....since to me it seemed like Win8 was MS trying to move toward a Mac-type OS (again, Win8 should be great for phones and pads)......what the heck, why not just go with someone (Apple) who has been doing it a heck of a lot longer [there's going to be a learning curve either way]. So I bought a MacBook Pro. No regrets (though there's a lot of things I don't like about "Apple control"). Won't be giving up XP machines (esp. the gaming machine, but won't be upgrading the OS on them for as long as possible. Regardless of how one fee's about Win8, it's kind of a gamble by MS (esp. for business use) and will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Um... You do know Apple doesn't actually make any of that crap right? It's X86 hardware and a Linux kernel. They have only been doing that for a few years "comparably). Microsoft Pioneered X86 operating systems. They have been doing it decades longer than MAC.

Power PC is dead.

Good luck gaming on your MAC when your XP machine dies. I think they have solitaire.. LOL

Win8 isn't a gamble. If you are in business and you want to stay "supportable" at a reasonable rate you will be in Win 7 or 8 now or in the near future. Sure there are businesses running MAC and RedHat but not many running it exclusively and ALL of the datacenters have Windows servers in them.

You paid twice as much money for shiny metal.. I would like to have one but lets not over-sell it. It's technology Mac adopted because their tech was just about dead.
