I want to thank everone for the help. I would like to have a glock but would rather stay cheaper.... as long as I can get a reliable weapon. That said Budsgunshop has the Beretta PX4 for $399. I need to check that one out in person.

I bought my glock 23 from gander mountain for 350. It was a "display" model and sold as used.
My taurus pt111(9mm) has a very long and heavy trigger. But i have fired 6 boxes of different ammo in one sitting and it never misfired.
If i had to pick one gun to own it would be the glock just for the better trigger. The springfield xd is a great gun also i loved the one i shot.

I shot the 36 at the range for an hour, its just enough thinner that grip felt awkward and tenuous when firing and then bringing back onto target. It didn't seem to me there was going to be enough difference in carry visibility to make up for the grip difference, and adding an over-grip brings it out to 1.25-inches which is a virtual wash with the G30. Also, like you said the G36 is a six shooter and the G30 is 10 but the G30 also has a 13 magazine easily available (but the 13 round mag leaves a big bulge when carrying).

The G30 is 1.27-inches thick (32.5mm).
The G36 is 1.13-inches thich (28.5mm).

Sweet gun! I still keep my S&W .357 MAG revolver, had it since maybe 1979 something like that. Its not a snub but a service revolver, blued, its seen lots of bangs and is still in real good condition.

I admit that one of the things I love about it is the flame out the barrel hehe. But the weapon kicks like a mule since its a solid frame and no springs to soak-up the shock. No surprise I shoot a lot of 38-specials thru it for just that reason, and run a box of .357 MAG's every once in awhile just to stay in practice because those slugs will cut thru a lot more than people realize.

The reason the G30 with a 13-round mag isn't so concealed-carry friendly is the extra grip length sticking straight out the back it bulges the shirt so have to wear a heavy coat to cover it up. A different waist-carry holster won't change much when it comes to grip length, at least for me. I carry my G30 with a 10-mag which is enough shorter to make a nice concealment package. All that being said, a serpa type holster is not the best concealed carry holster, there are others that lay flatter and conceal that little bit better, but the serpa type has a couple features that make it better for me imo and I give-up a small amount of flatness in that exchange even with the 10-mag. I also have a pocket holster but I'm looking for a better one.

So for the G30 I'm using the below Blackhawk serpa holster the most. Working on things, and just doing what I like to do, I get into conditions where it could be jostled out and fall which would not be good, so the button-lock is very handy. Works great when riding too, assuming its ever necessary. And this design with the G30 provides for a natural draw with my index finger indexed along the slide on draw and NOT on the trigger. That's important, and it only took me a day to practice myself into the correct draw because its set-up to be almost completely natural.

This Blackhawk holster comes with both a belt and a paddle mount but imo the paddle is useless even though its draw-angle-adjustable.

Yep... Interesting to read about "stopping power." Don't get me wrong... I'm not prejudiced. I like all calibers.
