Thought I'd start the new year off with a bang Different debate from me this time, I found these pics of a couple putting it down on the dragon with a car tire. nice lean angle for a ct, I still wouldn't do it cause' its ugly. but i guess you can lean with it.

I'm thinking about putting Avons Storms on my Ranger.

Well, if it works on a V-Storm, it will work on a ...
That "car tire" does not look very wide.
Interesting though, they are wearing all that protective gear and on a car tire, oh but wait, maybe that makes sense.

If I keep going through a tire a year, I may have to seriously consider it.

I hate to say it, but I was thinking the same thing. I mean come on, The roads out here are flat and straight. It's 40 miles to work and there is only 3 turns. Nahhh.

I won't rant. But just so its being said at least once in plain language, I'll step-up and take any heat tossed my way and say what i feel brothers and sisters. I hope everyone here avoids car tires on their street Warrior in 2013 and beyond because I hate the thought of a buddy having equipment installed that cannot react to the road as fast as inputs can be sent to the handlebars.

When the day comes you need to hard-push-right to go right and hard-push-left to go left, and the bike won't lean and stand up fast enough, then maybe that day you zig-zag around an obstruction or maybe you don't. With sport tires you can zig-zag harder and faster than with a car tire so if you elect to install a car tire on your Warrior then please avoid any need for emergency zig-zag to avoid a collision.

And if you have a problem then pray your insurance company ignores the car tire because most of them know the difference these days (and it doesn't matter if they believe one tire is better than the other because they will follow your wallet's path of least resistance).

Times are hard and we all have to do what we have to do, I just hope everyone here can find a solid way to keep the right rubber on their Beast (what ever they believe the right rubber is) and keep-up with other basic maintenance.

Here is my bike. I put the tire on almost 2 years ago and still cant see any wear on it. The key is having the right PSI in the tire. I keep 19 PSI in my tire and 23 if I ride 2 up. I think it looks great. The best part is the tire was about 200$ mounted and I used dyna beads to balance the wheel instead of weights.
