I definitely agree. I also ride without the solo seat attached to the fender.

Thanks guys, I saw & read all your opinions...and I'll see what options I have as far as a support for the seat & a low profile fender...

Yep IMO it works if it encloses the rear of the rider seat, and provides a hard mount for the tail light assembly, and also
provides a hard mount for the rear of the rider seat. No need to the fender point it could just enclose the seat-back.

This is a custom fender that was made for a person who wanted the point and there are LEDS under the fender lip on both sides of the point on the finished product. this is just a picture of the work in progress and like Arizona said is simply an idea of one of many alternatives to running just the seat. back to the point of the original post, I frimly believe that if you want to run either the solo saddle or the double saddle without a fender some type of support should be put under the back of the seat. there is a reason that every bike made has a rear attachment point for the seat this reason being safety.. Even if it is just a small screw like on a Harley the rear of the saddles are attached and are supported. Also I am Not sure of the legalities of running a motorcycle without a rear fender but I am sure that at one time somewhere in the near future a LEO could find it a good reason to issue a ticket. just my opinion

My main issue is the unfinished look under your seat. You can't find some kind of a fender you can chop the heII out of to finish it off and give you something to bolt the seat to?

Yep a pissed-off LEO could give many of us tickets for mods, but thankfully mostly it doesn'thappen. Even the yami rear-fender-eliminator kit that moves the plate up-top lets more water rooster-tail off the rear tire in the rain, but if a LEO ever noticed me he probably felt sorry for my dripping-wet-arse and left me alone haha! I agree with no fender it'll also throw water straight up the rider's back and who knows where else, who knows what a LEO might decide to do!
