an etx 14 is the same as a svr 14 and more powerful than the stocker. do a search on battery installs and you will find what you need to do. You can find the etx 14 pretty easily, mine was about 65 bucks.

True, but people are finding different kind/size batteries that fit, all the time. When it came time for me to get a new one, it didn't take long to find a good price on a better battery. Using a stock replacement anymore is just silly...

for anyone who reads this and is planning on replacing their battery here is a suggestion about the battery installation. I just bought the etx 14 battery from batterymart.com ($72 and some change and free shipping) and installed it today, i have read some threads about new batteries and having a problem with the fitment because of the little bump at the back of the battery box, i just used a metal saws all blade with the same idea as a shoe horn(it is all i had laying around any 1/8 inch or thinner long piece of metal would work though) and it allowed the battery to slip right past the bump, no heating required, then i just flattened out one side of the pos cable connector to get it to fit. don't forget to put a battery strap around it before installation or you would have a hard time pulling it back out as it is quite snug. The bike fired right up. Huge difference.
