Waay too much. Although these engines are built like tanks, its still a 650. They are easy to work on. Go on CL, find a basket case xs, and make it your own.

A fun as heII toy to have and ride around on. Cool as shite for sure. But as everyone else has stated. 4500 is way to steep. Would like to have one myself, just dont have the time right now to pursue any projects. I have 115 weeks left before I retire - maybe then.......

Wow, great advice from all...I'm not purchasing this bike, I just wanted to post the ad for idea and concept purposes only...
While we are at it though...I'm not too keen on older bikes, what else besides front brakes, rattlecan jobs and price should I be lookin at?

I assumed all bikes came with front brakes btw

I am a fan of the XS 650. They do make good bobbers, but better in street track livery. JMO.

Good thing you arent buying it cuz you definitely would have paid too much. If that is something you want then I am sure you can find one that is in decent shape and work on it yourself and make it your own for a lot less. That is a goal of mine to get a older sporty and do something similar and take my time working on it and put my own blood, sweat, and tears into it so that I can enjoy it. Just want something that I can say I did this with my own two hands and no one will have anything exactly like it. Thats the fun of having something like that knowing that its yours and not a carbon copy of someone elses. Definitely like the Bobber look, something thats so old school about them.
