Sherri, did you ever figure out the cause behind the sticky throttle? I just put Avon grips on my bike and I have the same problem...

Also, I want that Yamaha sticker

I bought the Avon grips and had a sticking problem. I thought it was a cable but after opening up the housing with the cables I found that the part of the grip that the cables hook up to was rubbing the inside of the cover. I sanded it and keep trying until it worked.

Now that you have an extra tank (don't know if you can repair it) you ought to try your luck with fiberglass and bondo to hide those stamped seams and dents. I usually will apply bondo and then cover it with the fiberglass and resin then more bondo on top. This process just makes me feel better about it ever showing cracks or falling out. Who knows, maybe you'll like it better! Check out my Tank Mod signature. Glad to hear you're getting your daughter involved.

Question, did everyone know you're supposed to change the brake fluid in your vehicles every 3 YEARS? I learned this after driving my Grand Cherokee 100k miles on the L.A. freeways and weird thing started to happen, fading, no pedal, spongy, very hot fluid that melted the rubber caps. After that I don't completely drain them but I do empty the reservoir with a turkey batter thingie and refill with fresh fluid every season.
