Default Something to help us all. Exploded Parts Diagrams

You may already do this but just in case you didn't know. Bike bandit has exploded parts diagrams of just about any bike you can imagine. There have been several times over the past year or so that I have went on their site to see how something is put together. It will not replace a shop manual for tips and instructions, but if you are even semi familiar with mechanical drawings it can help in a pinch. I have used it on different bikes.

My local dealer has a parts fiche link right on their site that I use. It's awesome that we can look up stuff on our own without having to make a trip to the dealer or a phone call! Gotta love the internet (sometimes lol).

Great tool to have. I've used it before but keep forgetting where I found it. Every time I need it I have to search for it again. Jeez, I'm getting old. That's ok though, soon I'll only need 2 or 3 movies to watch. By the time I get to the 3rd one, the next one will be all new to me.

Absolutely, have been using their 'fiche' since it was fiche....lol....so glad it is so easy to source on line these days.

Most source the same tool (it seems) for the parts finder and in you go, most any year.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO THOSE THAT DID THAT......THANK YOU!!!!

Its important to remember that in many cases the PARTS disassembled views are not going to show how something is really put together, they draw it to illustrate the parts so people can order the right things and assembly steps are a secondary consideration. That's why you'll see some things in the Service Manual with different assembly pics and certainly additional information needed to assemble or disassemble. Its the same with (for examples) Suzuki and Honda and even our Dodge truck manuals. Parts diagrams serve a different purpose!

it's funny you mention truck manuals. last week my neighbor was trying to change headlight bulbs in his 2012 GMC. the book has the high/low beams reversed. it says low beam in the bottom bucket, but it's on top.
on topic. great reminder, bikebandit. very handy.
