Default Lucky I kept the water heater

Finally had to change rego after moving interstate almost 2 years ago.
The V&H Long Shots were a bit loud, 104db when the max is 94db.
So after dragging the water heater 3,500km across country and through several house moves. I changed the exhaust out and got the rego compliance done with the water heater on.
The rego inspector took one look and said F#$k that is ugly, no wonder you had the other pipes. He sent his supervisor out, who looked and said "I've seen smaller baffles on a truck !!"

So might pay to invest in some quiet baffles from V&H.

I installed a HK slipon on my stock headers. It had a nice loud rumble and became more annoying the more I rode. Then I realized that the constant loud exhaust noise was not for me. Quests what, the old water heater was put back in service. I have admit it that it is rather large. There is a certain group on the forum who are fans of the can.

I'm still rolling with my water heater too but I do have plans to swap it out this Winter for a new set of Cobra Swepts but if I find them to be annoying loud I'll just reinstall the water heater and keep on cruising.

It's big
It's fugly
It's shiny
but it sure as heck sound much better than alot of aftermarket pipes I've seen on the Warrior.

Default can response so far

So far folks have said to me:
"man, that's a big pipe, I saw it from a distance"
"wow, where did you get that custom pipe"

Most folks around here do not know what a Warrior is. They say it "fits" the look of the bike well. However, they have not seen other Warriors with custom pipes and have not been exposed to this website.

I am a Can Fan for now, because:
1) I think it looks better than the majority(but not all) of custom pipes
2) It does a good job of hiding the fugly swing-arm area.
3) I remember some of the drawbacks of custom pipes on my previous bikes ....

I'm a fan of the can 'cause I like the sound and the look.I wrapped the headers with thermotape and a friend sprayed the can flat black.I love it!

you can modify your water heater as per the threads you will find on this forum and it gives a nice sound. I am a fan of the waterheater but will have to leave it as my rear tire will be too big and i want a different look. you might want to try Big City Thunder baffles for your other pipes. i have heard that they reduce the noise level but keep a nice throaty sound. www.bigcitythunder.com and in fact even make the sound better? If I am not mistaken a few members have gone to these baffles and prefer the sound to no baffles at all.
