Default What are your remedies for visor fogging?

Just bought a new 3/4 helmet and the visor fogs up a lot from my breath. I've heard a number of remedies from dish soap to WD40. I'm interested to hear what you folks do, what works, what doesn't . . . ??

Although I have never tried this firsthand, I have read that baby shampoo works very well. You remove the shield, coat both sides with baby shampoo, rinse off with cold water (washing away only the bubbles, leaving the film behind), and let air dry.

Thanks

take care guys these polycarbonates and lexan type shields hate the gases from the sprays ....mr sheen is a big nono....even these visor sprays like uk bob heath should be sprayed on a cloth and left for 30 seconds to get rid of the propellant gases before wiping - otherwise they will over time turn the plastic brittle !!

- schuberth helmets completely ban these types of spray and cleaners to the point of warranty infringement - the best answer is pinlock panels or the stick on inside sealed clear panels

It was invented in 1978 and didn't make it over here until 2005, don't know why. It's basically a second shield stuck to the inside of your main shield creating a sealed air gap. Similar to the double pane windows in most homes. The air gap is an insulator making the outside shield cold and the inside shield warm, ergo preventing "fog"

To my knowledge they don't make pinlocks for 3/4 helmet shields. Any thoughts on that spray stuff that you use for swimming goggles? I bought a bottle from Sports Authority to test it out. If not, that Pledge suggestion sounds interesting. Not worried about damaging the shield, they're dirt cheap to replace and I didn't pay all that much for the helmet anyway.
