Default gear indicator

On another thread there was a reference to a gear indicator.
Anyone have any expertise with any gear indicators and can give some feedback on what works best ?

This one is $240 dikota digital but It just shows what gear you're in. I think it's cool. I'd buy one just to stop trying to shift in 6th gear

Here are a couple links I got off my Rocket III forum:

HealTech Electronics Ltd. - Makers of the SpeedoHealer, GIpro, X-TRE, FI Tuner Pro, OBD Tool Go to " Product Manuals " and plug in your bike. There are 2 types available for the Warrior.

This gear counter thing is really interesting.

I think almost all of us can reliably count to 5 and then back to 1 or any gear and combination of up and downshifts above.

And, after a bit, we know roughly where the RPM should be for a given speed in 5th grear and we know via our ears as well when we are in 5th.

So, why do so many of us, me included, look for a second 5th gear just to make sure we are in 5th?

Come on we know we do this. And when we do this we all think, shoot, I knew I was in 5th, just had to ccheck.

Why do we do this?

I was kidding earlier, but still...

I know our bikes aren't stone age like a 50's Harley. We have an ECU and fuel injection. But there's just something wrong with a big -a$$ cruiser with a gear indicator. It's like that final nail in the coffin of going soft or something. I know, I have a bagger and a windshield, so I'm the pot calling the kettle black. But a man should know what gear he's in.

I don't mean to imply anything, and if someone found a great solution, I'd probably be at the front of the line to get one

This is the first bike I have ever had that I get confused on gears sometimes.

I blame the TQ. I'll downshift some and take a corner, thinking I was in 2nd but I'll rip through the gears, get up to speed and forget that I went into 5th instead of 4th and I'll try to get into another (6th) gear.

This is also the 2nd bike out of like 8 that I have had that does not have 6 gears.
