Default Go Cruise Cruise Control System

I went ahead and bought a Go Cruise Cruise Control system based on some positive reviews on another site. You can get them from this site:

motorcycle throttle control

And they look like this:

Sorry I haven't taken a picture of it on my bike. But it's basically the same. You can get it in chrome, silver (would probably match stock levers pretty well) and black.

It comes with a silicone ring -basically a big rubber band- that wraps around your grip near the inside edge. You carefully pry the thing apart (it's made of pretty solid plastic) and slide it all the way onto your grips. It's a little harder with the ISOs because they have the rubber ridges, but I got it on no problem in less than a minute. In normal operation it rests just above the brake lever. When you accelerate, it will stick up slightly as you pull the throttle back. It's not that much however, because rarely do you roll the throttle that much.

When you want to cruise, you reach over with your thumb or a finger and push it down until it rests on the brake lever. Then you let go and it stays in place. It really does work, and it only took me a time or two to get the hang of it and move it where I wanted very easily. No harder really than pushing the thumb lever on a Vista Cruise, and less intrusive IMO.

When you want to take it off, just quickly roll the throttle back down. You can basically blip the throttle -but down instead of up- in a fraction of a second and it's back to where you started. Again, after I did it a couple of times it came easily. If you take the throttle lock off, chances are you're reducing throttle anyway, so it just rolls back into position. This is easier than a Vista Cruise (or Kuryakyn's similar system) IMO because those you have to unlock, where with this you just reduce throttle normally.

I haven't tried it in the rain yet, so I don't know if it would slip when wet. But I really doubt I'd be riding with cruise on in the rain anyway.

I used to have the Kuryakyn throttle lock (the one like a Vista Cruise) and while I liked it, eventually it started stripping because it's all plastic, and the screws wouldn't hold it tight/together anymore.

I think this is a good choice for the price. If I had 200 bucks I'd get a brake-away, but since all I had was 20 bucks, this works well for me

If I did this right, here's a link to a video of it in action. If not, you will see the video on the page I already linked to this review.

Cool, you just reminded me I bought one of these (may not be that brand) a while back and never put it on. Think I'll give it a try...

Thanks!

Yeah I kind of figured for 20 bucks it was worth a try. If I hated it then it wouldn't be a biggie to take off. On the other forum a guy was giving it to all his riding buds as gifts. I figured if someone was willing to give them away they must be ok...

Used it last week in Big Bend NP. Worked like a charm. Very simple and easy to use.
