Default Update - Warrior Wiring Diagram & ECU Connector

Some subtle updates and minor corrections to Pages 1, 2 & 5 have been uploaded to my hosting site for the pdf file. The most current dates are show below & the file can be printed:
  • Page 1 & 2 are 12/01/12
  • Page 5 is now rev 7, 12/01/12

For those of you that subscribe to the hosted files pay particular attention to the PIN 10 & 34 of either the wiring diagrams or the ECU Pin detail.

These connections represent an ISOLATED 5vdc power supply that receives power from the battery. For those that wish to further their knowledge i suggest you visit Page 1-5 of the YFSM. (Yamaha Factory Service Manual)

There is a misnomer circulating on the Forum and i've been guilty of it too for many years and it's PIN 34 which has been described as a Digital Ground where in fact it is an isolated ground.

The bottom line here is, doesn't matter what you call it, at no time do you ever want to connect this Pin to the 12vdc chassis ground.

The components (sensors) that use the 5v circuit are mainly analog controls and the switches which are discrete use 12v digital inputs also on Page 1-5.
If the YFSM doesn't make sense i suggest you visit the www where i'm sure you'll find some generic info to support the manual.

For those that have the need to know you can validate and or dispute the above with a DVOM or equiv by removing the battery Grnd and unplugging the ECU as i have done some years ago when i was on a Witch-Hunt attempting to chase and identify the diagnostic pin 3-black wires in vain w/o unwrapping the main harness

Imo this wiring diagram is the most comprehensive electrical information on all year Warrior builds and an invaluable tool for bike builders or day to day troubleshooting and also includes the later year bikes in color with proper polarity of the conductors/descriptors and also the later relay unit correctly for model years '04' & >.

enjoy

A friendly Word of advice

I've noticed recently a member downloaded the wiring diagram to the forum server as a pdf attachment in their thread.
This is not a wise thing to do as that file will not represent any subtle changes that i might make unannounced in the background which has and will going forward as i see fit.

I suggest any reference to the file be the original url that has been in place for over 7 years and unchanged even when Carknee owned and hosted the file on his site or just download to your hard drive.
