Default WTB - Hard Krome Xcellerator muffler

Hello All,

I have what i think is the Hard Krome Xcellerator exhaust.

The baffle inside was tinging as if were loose and when i dug into it, it seems that it worse than I thought and can't be repaired easily as the muffler is welded together and it would require taking apart.

Here is a pic of the system, it's the one on the ground.

Would anyone out there have a xcellerator muffler or complete xcellerator exhaust system for a reasonable price that they would part with?

I like the look and the sound of this system and would like to save it. The alternative would be to replace the system with the propipe.

Hard krome makes good quality pipes but their one fatal flaw is the fact that most of their systems have welded in baffles. Is the exhaust too loud without the baffle?

I agree, the quality of the pipes and chroming is top notch.

I hadn't dug into it far enough to see about removing the baffle. Looks like it would require cutting the heat shield off from the tip.

Given that the muffler is pretty much a flow-through anyway, I would guess that the loudness wouldn't increase that much but without the baffle, the sound or tone may change?

Hard Krome's Excellerators are a nice looking and sounding pipes indeed. A complete set was listed in the for sale section a while back at a very decent price. I was interested however the shipping to Canada is so expenseive that I needed Brinks to deliver it for me LOL. The seller was sdwarrior06. If you are interested send him an pm.

I have an HK Sideburner Exhaust can. Not sure if it's compatible but I always thought the difference was just the cans.

Did they ever make a sideburner for the warrior??

I don't know the spacing between the pipes that go into the muffler, but the pipes themselves measure 1 5/8" OD.

What size pipes are on the sideburner?

I will measure the spacing when I get home later today.

I tell you what, my RoadBurner velocity lite pipes look dead on with yet a different can. Another option might be purchasing a 2-1 merge collector and putting on your own can. That is my plan when mine gives up.

The road burner and side burner pipe go straight back level with the ground, the exxcelerator pipes raises up in the back very much like the stock headers do i believe.

You are right, the xcellerators point up and follow the line of the stock exhaust. It was one reason why I like it:

For selling you the busted one, I got an offer for it when I first posted the ad and said that if I don't find a solution I would offer it to him first. If that falls through I can contact you.
