Default How much would you pay - used VH Propipe

So, I'm in the middle of a offer/counter-offer on Ebay for a used V&H Pro Pipe. There's a significant amount of bluing on the heat shield, although most doesn't seem to be visible while the pipes are mounted. I was just trying to figure out at what point the extra work trying to get the bluing gone is more hassle than it's worth. The current offer on the table is $250, all in. A new set is roughly $380 from a few different places, all in. Thoughts?

Kinda hard to guess without seeing the pipe and knowing it's age & condition. I've seen a few used Warrior Ebay pipes sell anywhere's from $225-$360 depending on the make of the pipe.

Does your offer include shipping to your door ?

I included a link to the actual auction in the op, if you click the words v&h pro pipe. The offer I made was lower, the counter offer from the seller is the amount I mentioned. It would include shipping, AFAIK.

That's more than just bluing. It looks scorched to me. I'd spend the extra bucks & get a new one, or wait for a nicer one to come along.

The buy it now price is $300, but there's an option to make an offer. At which point they can counter offer, accept or decline completely. It can also be bought out by someone else at any point before an offer is accepted.

And that's part of why I was asking. I don't know enough to know whether they could be structurally weakened or if that's even something you can tell by looking at them. The extent of my knowledge is that bluing is usually caused by running excessively lean, and I only *think* that's what I've read.

What I do, in the case of used equipment.....is take 1/2 off the sticker price, then based on the condition of the part I adjust from there.....

so if the part is say $500. brand new, and it's used....my starting price is $250, then if it's in perfect condition, which used parts are rarely MINT....I might add or subtract a little from there....that's just the way I do buisness....good luck on your purchase!

Pass !!!!!!

Cheapest I've seen that pipe go for new is $415.00 delivered. If it was not blued out & toasted I could see $230--ish delivered but it's toast. You also have to keep in mind what other un seen/possible shipping damage it might have if the seller don't pack it right. If I were you I'd save my loot and buy new.

Heck......there's a brand new 1 on Ebay right now selling for $413.00 delivered and a few other brands such as Sho-Guns selling @ 309.00 brand new. At least you know exactly what you're paying for & getting when buying new.
