I find it hard to believe, nay impossible to believe, that you live in SF and you don't already own several pairs of assless.chaps. If you don't, just borrow your boyfriend's

Good Sir! Chaps, by definition, are assless. It's like saying sleeveless t-shirt.
I own several fine Armani chaps. None of them match the paint of my Warrior. I certainly can't be seen with mismatched chaps/bike like this at our Pride Parade.

Hmmm... black matches everything. Plus, nobody will judge you at the parade That's the whole point of it! I salute you for having the courage to ride in said parade wearing your Armani assless chaps, and pink sleeveless t-shirt. Which if it's sleeveless, would make it a wife-beater.

Boy, that image is gonna stick with me for awhile.... Ah well, I still salute you

Well,

Almost 2k miles now. I guess I'm keeping it. I've got new tires waiting in the garage along with a PC3. Put some new saddle bags on. At first I had a great practical tail bag but it was just too ugly. It'd look fine on a standard or sport bike. I should be receiving Churchkeys Vbak some time soon.
Still need a windscreen. I think the tallest Clearview is what I want but I need Boulevard mounts.
I tried the Airhawk but will be returning it. Great idea but only useful for 200+ miles. It does feel a bit weird and the positives don't outweigh the negatives on my 30 miles one way trip.
It's a little too cold to wear chaps now.

On a serious note, I thought you weren't especially tall? The tallest clearview might be too tall for you. I don't have one though, so I can't confirm that. Boulevards come up for sale pretty often on the forum, so just keep an eye out.

I've got the fanciest wet weather sport touring tires on my Buell now and this thing is way more confidence inspiring on the freeway. I'm guessing the fact that it's ten feet long and weighs 2 tons helps a lot.
The gas tank is way too small.
Just West of Indianapolis on my way to South Dakota from Virgina Beach.
I felt perfectly comfortable riding - the only reason I pulled over is because I couldn't see, safety issues and all that.

I'm 6'5", which is the main reason I needed to finally get a non sport bike; the legroom still hurt even though I mangled my Buell with upright handlebars.

That's not a V-strom actually. That's a NC700x. My roommate just picked one up as his first bike last month. He's comfortable on it at 6'2, but he's mostly torso. It also has *no* power, but it does get exceptional gas mileage. He averages about 70ish mpg.
