Agreed, avoid that weekend, and all is good.

I spoke with 3 other vic riders this weekend, and the general consensus is that we would like to all take up to 2 weeks off to cover the ride, and spend 4 days riding up, and 4 days to get back.

That means we all need to lock in holiday dates ASAP.

October sounds the way to go.

Fabio, how about you? Laurie, Matt, Zorba & myself are all good to go with this idea. Shida looks like he's out of the running after a fall from a ladder (get well soon mate if you read this)

so are we any further forward on dates yet? Sept or Oct sounds pretty good, if Sept weekend of 7/8th better for me or Oct 20th which is well after the schools go back, though that might be a bit close to the Imbil rally if were looking at that as a venue X

Don't forget that time is slipping away fro the Qlders and they still have to veiw and book the venue and all the other associated works that goes with it.

I know how long and hard the work is to get this up and running, so cut them some slack and let's fix a date.

past the pontificating & navel hair scratching, but not past the navel hair examination stage. (BTW, isnt it amazing what you find sometimes )

I second, third & fourth Redstar2's suggestion of the 20th October.

I'll be heading to the MotoGP, so I wont need to get an extra weekend pass from the minister of finances, and if any other lads are coming down from interstate, I can put 3-4 up at my place for the Thursday night before heading off to the island on the Friday.

I'll be on the highside campsite again this year. walking distance to the track, bands & booze. What more do you need.

(we are on the lookout for a big second hand canvas army tent. any suggestions Hans?)

I've got heaps of normal camping gear, and my mates always take the cage with the supplies, tents, BBQ, beer & wood for the fire, so you would only need to chip in for food & booze.

Well... if you do it on the weekend of the 20th Oct then I'll have to pass.
That is my annual ride to Sawtell with my bike Klub.
Basically I am happy to do any other weekend.
