So as QLD is hosting this, the time has come to start researching venues. So far we have several options on the table and some rides to each over the next few months would be good to get a venue cemented.
1. Bigriggen Campground. Between Boonah and Rathdownie. Has a Bunk house sleeping either 20 people in one dorm or 4 bunk rooms sleeping four in each. 2. Aritula Hotel at the bottom of Cunninghams Gap. Basic accom but good food, cheap piss and central. 3. Cunnungra Hotel, Still have to check this out. 4. Imbil Deer farm, Cabins sleeping four in each and cooking facilities 5. Wondai Hotel, Spokes knows about this and can make comment as have not been there. 6. Shane Webkies pub in Leigburn, maybe to far out. 7. Beared Dragon Hotel, nice and central to the Tambourine mountains and Numinbah valley. Heff |

there is always the option to camp at imbil as well of course, and the pub at Leyburne is nice and not too bad to get to, but very basic as far as camping is concerned, as its not a camp site just a field over the road so no loos or showers or anything of that nature

The Cecil Hotel at Wondai is up near the Bunya Mountains and has a great ride just to get there.
It has basic accomodation with shared facilities above the hotel itself and has catered to Bike groups before. The main bar is out the front and is quite samll but there is a big games room type area out the back that is usually deserted when we have been there. It has a pool table, duke box and dart board which would be pretty much exclusively ours. The bikes would be locked up in a fenced area behind the pub where the owners used to have a blue healer watching over them. It has been a few years since I have been out there so we'd have to have a ride and check it out again. Sounds like an excuse for an overnighter hey? Who's up for it? |

Spokes and I are talking about heading out to the Cecil Hotel in Wondai this Sunday if any of you Qld's are up for a ride. We can check the venue and cool off with a couple of cold ones.

Cancelled due to weather.
This next weekend is out for me too as I have to lead a Kobbers ride, which (if anyone is interested in coming along) is going out over the range to the Meringindan Pub for lunch where they have HUGE steaks and big @ss bangers). So... how's the weekend of the 28th/29th Jan looking? Anyone up for it? |

Don't know if you looked west towards the mountains yesterday but there appeared to be a lot of heavy rain in that direction and the only way to get to where we're going is over that range. But yeah, OK. I should've rang. Got drunk and forgot - again. |
